Welcome to  Foxwood's, this is our future retirement home. Since we won't use it as such for another few years, we are happy to share it with those who we feel would have the same appreciation for the home and its surroundings as we do.

This is a collaboration between Patrick and myself. It has all the amenities that we hope to enjoy now and in our 'golden years' along with our family and friends. The home was completed February of 2008.  The exterior pictures while spectacular, do not do it justice, wait until Summer!

The total living space is close to 3500 square feet. There are 3 wood burning fireplaces one in the great room, one in the (unfinished walkout) and one outdoors, under the deck.

The home features, A huge Kitchen and eating area, Great Room, a Master Bedroom Suite with a private bath, 2 Guest Bedrooms, a Loft and a Guest Bathroom and a Half Bath on main floor along with a full Laundry Room. It can comfortably sleep 12 with the current number of beds, we do have inflatable beds that set up in under 5 minutes that are very comfortable for additional sleeping when needed.

Foxwoods is a perfect spot to relax, to enjoy the beauty of nature and the areas that surround our little community. It is safe, comfortable and most of all...peaceful. You will awaken in the morning, not to the drone of power boats, but song birds and the feeling of being well rested and serenity all overlooking the glassy surface of beautiful Green Lake.

It is a perfect spot for couples to enjoy together as a small intimate group or an ideal spot to gather with family. If you think you might you would like to be on 'big water' when you are on vacation you will be pleasantly surprised. If what you seek includes serenity, total peace and relaxation, then this is your spot.

Personally, we have have vacationed on bigger lakes and we visited many prior to obtaining this spot.  What we didn't like was chaos.  We have that at home! We visited ALL of the lakes in the area. Each one of those visits drew us closer to choosing Green Lake. We like nothing better than rolling out of bed when we have had enough sleep, not when the power boats and jet ski's awaken us. That tranquility was the driving force of our building here.

However you spend your time here. You will fall in love with Foxwoods.

Green Lake

The name should have been Emerald Lake. The gorgeous color of the water is beyond the word 'green'. During certain periods in the summer, it can also be described as a "Caribbean blue". The 44 acre spring fed lake is located at the base of the hill the home sits on...this lake has some of the most challenging Bass and Pan Fish angling around. You can literally sit on the dock for hours, catching Blue Gill and Bass, the kids (big and small) will have a ball. It is a quiet lake, designated as hand carry craft only and it enjoys NO WAKE status by the DNR. That means, no gas motors are allowed, only electric motors. Its beauty is unspoiled and it will remain so. What you see now, is how it will always appear, we and the other residents and property owners take great pride in its crystal clear water and naturally pristine shorelines.

If you own Jet Skis, or a boat you trailer, there are numerous large lakes within 15 minutes to launch your crafts and explore. We encourage that you visit Torch Lake, Clam Lake, Lake Bellaire, Intermediate Lake, Grand Traverse Bay, Petoskey and the East Jordan River Valley, all which offer beautiful clear water and the 'excitement' of larger lakes. The Grass River area is gorgeous and connects Bellaire Lake to the Clam Lake to Torch Lake...in fact, all lakes lead to the Grand Traverse Bay, this area is well known as the "Chain of Lakes"

A book of local entertainment and recommendations of where to go has been prepared for you. This includes menus of some of our favorite places and some treasured scenic day trips for you and your family. While you might think this home is slightly off the beaten path, you are only minutes away from shopping and fine dining! When available links to web sites are included on this site. We have also a name or two for babysitters in the area should you need someone to watch small children, while you enjoy an evening out.
