There is a lake view from every room in the home. The Kitchen, Great Room, Master Bedroom and both Guest Rooms all overlook shimmering Green Lake.

This home is cooled and heated by a geo thermal furnace, even though the rooms are large the home is very comfortable, warm and cozy. This is the 'greenest' most efficient technology available. My ideal evening...a fire in the fireplace in my favorite spot with a good book!

The layout allows plenty of privacy for couples or families that share the home.  You will relax and soak in the peace and quiet...and never want to leave.

This is a close up of the front entry door. While researching hand carved doors early in our build project, I soon realized that they were out of our budget. I decided that I wanted to hand carve the door of our home myself.  Self taught from books I was able to complete the project in about 160 hours and discovered I really liked doing it!!

The door depicts two foxes in high relief, there are 5 levels in the carving. The wood is rustic Alder.  It was a fun and fascinating project! I'd really like to do another someday.

Pets

We are great pet lovers.  In fact you won't find bigger dog lovers than us!!!  We own and operate a Pet Lodging facility downstate. Regretfully, we do not allow pets to stay in the home. However, if you are a client of Shores Kennels, we will board your pet at no charge while you are enjoying Fox Woods.  If you bring your pet into town, there is a boarding kennel on 131 between Leonard Road and Elder Road.  Mancelona Veterinary Hospital has very nice facilities for your pet.

Kitchen Facilities

There is a table and seating for 8.  The edges of the table fold up for a huge round table.  The additional chairs are around the island. We request that dining be done in the kitchen.  Especially children who may spill!  We ask that you take great care when consuming beverages that may stain if spilled.

Should an accidental spill occur. There are cleaning products under the sink that will help remove stains.

You are welcome to use anything in the kitchen.  If you use any of the condiments we request you restock.

Please clean all areas promptly and according to instructions.

Please dispose of all food stuff that you will not be using.  You must take all trash out to the Leonard Road exit and put in the trash container.  Do Not put trash bags outdoors.  There are wild animals that WILL forage through the trash and make a mess.

Linens

Prior to your arrival all bedding that has been placed on the beds and it is fresh.  We request that you strip all bedding and towels and put in the laundry facilities for the cleaning crew to launder and replace.  So please leave behind any towels belonging in the home, linens, blankets, throws, pillows and any other items that have been provided for your comfort or convenience, are not mementos of your stay. Any missing items will be charged to your account.

If you leave behind items you will be contacted for instructions on how we get them returned to you.

Entertainment

The television is easy to operate, there is a manual with instructions on which remotes do what.

We do have subscription Satellite TV service through Dish Network. You cannot get PPV movies. For those of you who need to access the internet, if you have wireless access on a personal laptop it works pretty well, we have a pretty good signal through AT&T. Cell phone service with that carrier is also pretty good. Some times are better than others. The best connection would be out on the front porch, the deck or the mud room.  We suspect it is the construction that interferes with some cell signals OR it could just be the nature of the beast we have no idea.

You may also access the internet with your ISP in town at the coffee shop on the corner it has wireless internet and is less than 5 minutes away...the ride over might be faster than waiting for mail to upload. You may find it a wonderful respite from the hustle and bustle of home NOT to visit work online, but if you need a real quick connection that is the place to go.  I am exploring options...

Telephone

There is a land line to the home. There is no long distance service. You will have to make any long distance calls through your cellular service provider.
