As this is our home we request that you treat it respectfully, as you would your own. You will have a contact phone number available to you should you run into any issues or have questions during your stay.  Please do not hesitate to call.

Fishing on Green Lake

We request you practice catch and release, this includes the frogs and turtles. While they are abundant, they are an important part of the eco system of Green Lake. The lake does have a public access, so it is used by locals as well. If you see instances of abuse, please document them and leave the information on the kitchen counter prior to your departure, we will report it to the proper authorities.

At the waters edge you will find a paddle boat for your enjoyment. As with all the other items we have provided for your stay here, we request that you use it with the same care you would give your own personal possessions. Our home, it contents and the beautiful lake it overlooks and the community it sits within is yours for the time you are in it, we urge you exercise consideration for the premises and the environment. Please practice diligence monitoring small children as well as the teens. Practice water safety on or about the waters edge. Life jackets are in the black dock box and we request you use them.

Campfires

If you are from 'downstate' or out of state you may not be aware that there are often burning bans. This is of course because of the danger of forest fire...If in doubt, check on the local news or call the DNR. (231) 533-8341

It is very quiet and serene most of the time, however, there are year round residents and other members of our community that will no doubt be there during your stay, especially on holiday weekends. We ask no littering, no cutting down of trees...no loud or raucous parties and absolutely NO fireworks. You are our guests. Any ATV's are to be used outside the boundaries of the community.  There is State owned land across the lake that can be accessed by the Lake Access entrance off of Elder Road and plenty of roadways West on Elder Road.

This is a family home. We do not extend invitations  to groups of  20 something singles that want a party house. Our request should you have teenage children, is that they have supervision or are instructed precisely and definitively of our rules and expectations.  We want all to have a great relaxing vacation. We reserve the right to refuse rentals without explanation.

Pets, we are huge pet lovers, however, pets are not allowed in the home. If you are a Shores Kennels client, we will board your pet at no charge while you are on vacation! If you choose to bring your pet there is a pet boarding facility nearby.  Mancelona Veterinary Hospital has a very nice boarding facility.

An operations manual has been assembled to operate the entertainment system and the lighting system, as well as the Jacuzzi tub, all appliances are pretty standard.

We do have subscription Satellite TV service through Dish Network, for those of you who need to access the internet if you have wireless access on a personal laptop it works pretty well. Although you may find it a wonderful respite from the hustle and bustle of home NOT to visit work online!. There is a coffee shop in town on the corner that has wireless Internet...and great coffee!

We do have a land line available for local calls only.  You will need to use your cell phone for any long distance calls.

Please clean up after yourself. While we don't expect you to launder the linens,  please remove bed linens and place them in the laundry room.  Any trash that is bagged can be put in a trash can in the basement or if you would be so kind you can bring it to the Leonard Road entrance/exit and put in the box receptacle.

Please do NOT leave trash in or outside the house. There is wildlife that will tear into bags and make a mess.
